Our Vision

Digital technology has changed the world. The Internet, which is an important element of the information society, provides great convenience in mass communication and information sharing, but also raises many concerns around the world due to its negative content. The fact that the internet has a constantly evolving and changing dynamic structure affects the Internet users.
The unconscious use of the Internet, which affects social life at an important level, presents threats to private and social life.
It is important that schools create action plans for conscious Internet usage and parents are trained in this area. Awareness-raising activities should be carried out taking into account the steps of using conscious, safe, manageable and measurable information technologies.
According to the 2017 report of UNICEF, world State of the World's Children UNIC, every child must take advantage of the opportunities offered by the digital world and be protected from online risks pending. Studies carried out for this purpose should be accelerated and more targeted studies should be carried out. Digital technology may lead to new ways of distinction that prevent children from realizing their potential. In order to capture the rapid change in this area, it is necessary to act immediately. These risks can create invisible threats that can harm children.
According to the research results, children aged 8-12 are exposed to 56 percent of cyber risks worldwide, 47 percent of children aged 8-12 are exposed to cyberbullying in the world. 19 percent are exposed to online sexual content / activities.
According to the results of the European Commission's research in 25 countries, 92 percent of children use Internet to do their homework, 83 percent play games, 75 percent watch videos and 71 percent use the internet for social media.
In this study, based on the data obtained from 25 European countries, the internet activities of children and their parents, risks and parental awareness of children and parents were examined.
Data in the study was obtained by interviewing 23.000 internet users from 23 European countries with ages between 9 and 16. Results showed that most of the Internet skills of the children are insufficient and they are exposed to many online risks. In addition, parents did not have enough information to save their children from internet risks.
As a result of the research it was seen that children did not have sufficient knowledge and skills about Internet security and families did not support their children adequately. Therefore, it is suggested that different solutions and studies should be done to raise awareness in schools.
It has been found that many children are exposed to online risks, and these risks increase as the means of communication over the Internet change. One of the urgent tasks of schools, children and parents is to take responsibility for raising awareness.
It is clear that students' knowledge of their online risks is insufficient. Students do not have sufficient capacity to query the reliability of online content. For this, work should be done on digital technology and safe internet usage in schools to obtain data, to take necessary measures, to protect, to strengthen and inform students.

The aim of this project is NOT to make children the slaves of the digital world, but to make them its masters.
