Ilayda's first report

Hello everyone, I’m İlayda. By opening a new chapter in my life, I have embarked on a one-year volunteering project in Hungary. This is my first volunteering experience, so I am both excited and happy. My first three weeks have been an unforgettable beginning, filled with discovery and change.

During our first week in Hungary, we started with an orientation process, getting to know both the other volunteers and the children we would be working with. We spent time together and got to know each other better. In the same week, we completed official processes like obtaining our residence cards and were given bicycles  to use for commuting between home and work. Additionally, we participated in fun activities filled with games, such as kinball and checkers, to improve teamwork. By the end of the week, we, as volunteers, went on our first trip together and enjoyed exploring Nyíregyháza.  This initial week laid a great foundation for both the project and the friendships we were building.

Our second week began with handcraft activities and Christmas preparations  with the children. Later, we joined Turks and Macedonians for a digital storytelling project, numbered Youth Exchange 2024-1-HU01-KA151-YOU-000196168. The project lasted 10 days.
