International Draughts European Youth Championships - Arrival

2024.07.311. - 2024.08.10. International Draughts European Youth Championships, Jelgava, Latvia. Arrival day:

The Hungarian delegation with 11 competitors and 2 chaperones arrived in Jelgava on the evening of 31 July with the support of the Budai XI SE grant "NTP-NTMV-23-A-0042". We flew from Budapest to Helsinki and then to Riga. From Riga we took a transfer to our accommodation in Jelgava. Our first impression of the city is that it is very well organised, green, clean, peaceful and very liveable. After checking into the accommodation we took a short walk to Jelgava Castle, where the competition hall and restaurant were located. After dinner, Bálint Ambrózy and Bence Andicsku attended the coaches' briefing. We took a walk around the castle, checked out the food on offer in the shops and settled in for the next day.
