International Draughts European Youth Championships - 4th day

2024.07.311. - 2024.08.10. International Draughts European Youth Championships, Jelgava, Latvia. Day 4:

Yesterday was another long day for the players.

There were rounds in the morning and in the afternoon, with a short lunch break in between, which was enough time to take a short walk outside and have a look at the Jelgava Municipality's wild horse stud farm. We went up to the lookout tower, from where we could admire the bulbous vegetation of the river that flows through the town.

The most persistent players (Bence Andicsku, Anna Vécse, Bence Homoki) played for more than 8 hours yesterday and after dinner we had to analyse the games. It really exhausted them.

Thanks to the results so far, no one is without points, which means that in this strong field they managed to get at least one draw. There have been some nice games and some annoying games lost to mistakes, but they are learning a lot from their mistakes and every day is a new day with a new opportunity. That's how they sit in on matches.
