International Draughts European Youth Championships - 6th day

2024.07.31. - 2024.08.10. International Draughts European Youth Championships, Jelgava, Latvia. Day 6:

Today we only had one round in the morning, but by now our players are quite tired mentally. There were several players who eventually lost their winning positions. The biggest success of the day for us was that Noémi Meszesán played a draw with an Azeri player (with 2024 live points), which we were all very happy about.

The afternoon was a free programme for them. For us leaders it was a coaching seminar with a presentation by Gruntis Valneris Latvian Checkers Grandmaster, World Champion. He spoke about how they organise checkers training here in Latvia, how they have a large base and how they nurture outstanding talent. Anna Vecsei and Bence Andicsku joined the presentation as the Grandmaster analysed his World Championship match.
