Day 9:

On the final day of the European Championship, the Blitz rounds took place. Players had only 5 minutes to win or block all of their opponent's pieces. This required quick tactics and fast thinking.

For the Hungarian players, this game format was particularly challenging, as the long competition days had left them exhausted.

We express our gratitude to the Latvian organizers and their assistants for providing us with a well-planned, organized, and professionally conducted European Championship. They managed to keep to the schedule while paying attention to every detail. Despite being a small country, Latvia successfully mobilized and trained hundreds of players for the competition. In most categories, Latvian players claimed the top spots, and the Latvian anthem was played in their honor. Latvia also won all three team categories (Classic, Rapid, and Blitz).
