World Draughts-64 Championship

2024.09.05.-15. Moscow, WORLD DRAUGHTS-64 CHAMPIONSHIP AMONG MEN AND WOMEN

Thanks to the invitation of the INTERNATIONAL DRAUGHTS FEDERATION, 1 female and 1 male competitor will participate in this world cup. The men will be represented by Bálint Ambrózy and the women by Anna Vécsei.

Our journey is a bit adventurous as we have to travel 26 hours including waiting time. We started this morning and have to change in Istanbul and wait 16 hours for the connection.

After landing, we decided to have a look around the city. We flew 1 hour 40 minutes from Budapest to Istanbul, then travelled 1 hour 30 minutes by metro and tram to get into the heart of the city. Just to put things in perspective, Hungary has a population of 10 million and Istanbul 15 million. 1.5 Hungary.

In the main square, we visited the cami and burial place of Sultan Mehmet. Unfortunately, the Haga sofia was closed, but we will visit it on the way back.

We looked for a place for dinner. We managed to try the Adana kebab and the cheese gözlem. And of course the ayran was not to be missed. We even found a mecca of fruit vendors, and managed to buy fresh and dried figs. Now it's time to get some sleep somewhere in the airport and then we'll fly on to Moscow in the morning.
