From 27.02.2022 to 03.03.2022, we visited a wonderful mining town in Zoguldak, Turkey, where 2 adults and 4 students participated in the 5th international meeting of our Erasmus+ project "Household Without Chemicals". During the meeting our theme was old time recipes. So, during the 5 days of our visit we visited the vocational school Sivrilek, a small village in the mountains, where cooks and waiters are trained. In their tank kitchen, each nation cooks a traditional dish. We cooked goulash soup, of course. To tell the truth, our girls have a lot to learn about peeling potatoes. The students made a presentation about the carnival customs. Every nation tries to ward off winter and bring in spring as soon as possible. The programme ended with the presentation of gifts, certificates and the planting of trees to commemorate the meeting. Many friendships were made. After the meeting, we had the opportunity to spend 1 full day in Istanbul, where we visited many historical sites. Among others, we visited the Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque, as well as the palace of Sultan Suleiman. We thank our Turkish friends for the unforgettable experiences and the great hospitality. We are looking forward to the next project meetings in Amara and Bucharest, Romania.
