Our accommodation was in Pavona, where we arrived again late in the evening of day 2 after a long train journey. We found only a small Turkish fast food restaurant open, where we had kebabs for dinner, baklava for dessert and rice croquettes for a bonus. Unfortunately there was no Airan, because the Italians don't know and don't like it. We had a very good conversation with the hosts. Then we dragged our suitcases to the accommodation. The host welcomed us very kindly, showed us everything and how everything works in the apartment. We accepted the rooms, cleaned up and finally went to sleep. Day 3 morning we took the train to Rome. It was a bit difficult to get breakfast as everything does not open until 8:30 and the train left after 9:00. So we bought a small pastry and ate it on the way.
Our first stop from the train station was the Trevi Fountain, where we managed to meet some Hungarians. After that, we explored the Roman Forum and its surroundings and then visited the Colosseum. I have to admit that the visit to the Colosseum was a bit of a shock for the group. There was a lot of queuing to buy tickets, for the guided tour and finally when we got inside, we barely moved inside, practically in one place the guide was giving us the usual cliché. We expected much more from this, so this programme was a disappointment.
Then an afternoon Italian lunch in a nice little restaurant and back to the hostel. On the way we did some shopping (pasta, pesto, spices, cheese, ham, bread, butter, fruit, vegetables.
Afterwards, the girls cooked pasta with pesto and we had dinner together in a good atmosphere. Afterwards, the dishes were washed, the tidying up was done and then it was time for a well-deserved sleep.
