Draughts - Attention, Strategy and Learning from Mistakes

Draughts requires concentration, patience and foresight at the same time. During the sessions, the young participants learn step by step how to plan ahead, how to pay attention to their opponent’s decisions, and how to choose from several possible solutions.

Every game creates a new learning situation. A successful move can reinforce a conscious strategy, while analysing a mistake helps participants recognise what they can do differently next time. In this way, playing together supports not only logical thinking, but also self-reflection, perseverance and learning from one another.

The “Our Talents in Mind Sports” programme, project ID NTP-TEHETSEG-25-0149, was implemented with the support of the National Talent Programme, from the National Talent Fund, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation. The amount of funding is HUF 4,700,000. The implementation period of the programme: 2025.09.01-2026.08.31.
