We began the fourth day of our mobility in France with another practical session at the Okinawa Karate Club. During the morning Krav Maga training, we learned techniques for escaping from chokeholds, as well as several basic ground-fighting techniques. Once again, the session provided participants with valuable new experiences and further developed their self-defence skills, situational awareness and understanding of personal safety.

After lunch, we took part in a city tour lasting almost three hours, led by four local guides. During the programme, we learned more about the history of Le Havre and explored several of its most important landmarks. We visited the harbour, the Art Deco district, the church often described as a lighthouse, and the city’s ultramodern theatre and library buildings.

The afternoon programme was an important part of our mobility, as it helped participants gain a deeper understanding of the historical, cultural and community characteristics of the host city. Becoming familiar with the local environment also helped us better contextualise the institutional and social experiences we encountered throughout the week.

After the city tour, we also visited the Docks shopping centre, bringing the day to a close in a more relaxed atmosphere. Following the long walk, dinner was especially welcome. This time, we enjoyed the flavours of Italian cuisine, with each participant receiving a large pizza that quickly disappeared.

The day contributed both to the development of practical self-defence skills and to a deeper understanding of the cultural and community environment of the host city.
