The Hungarian team with 12 students and 2 chaperones participate in the Russian Draughts European Youth Championships in Alanya.

The players worked very hard, it was not easy to get a point. The opponents have been preparing regularly for 8-10 years with the help of grandmasters, masters and coaches. Hungarian players learn almost on their own, as we don't have coaches or grandmasters. From the current U27 category, we hope to have 3-4 coaches who will be able to work with the juniors and we will slowly grow up to this powerful community. The very strong competence-building effect of mental sports is indisputable. It has an impact on the whole personality of the sportsmen. Their problem-solving skills, their combinatorial skills are above average. We hope that these intellectual sports will also become more and more popular in Hungary and that it will become fashionable among young people to play well.
