We were waiting for the last train at Budapest Keleti station to finally smell home again. Everyone was already dreaming of broth, stuffed cabbage and fried meat, some of us had parents who sent us a picture of the pot of soup simmering on the stove at dawn.
The last train was, of course, 40 minutes late, the air conditioning was not working, several people had tickets for the same place. But "home sweet home...". All in all we survived a COVID, a pepper spry thief attack, saw many wonders and saw all sides of life. In almost every city we saw luxury cars running around the city streets, we saw garbage filled neighborhoods, we saw luxury hotels and people begging on the streets. The characteristic smell of weed is still in our nostrils and was present in every city. This is a brief cross-section of today. And we do not live in a rich part of Hungary, but our young people think we are very happy here in this little village called Kállósemjén.
