Today we spent the day in Venice. We bought breakfast at a nearby spa, left our suitcases in the luggage room and headed for St Mark's Square. Unfortunately, the water level had risen and most of the square was under ankle-deep water. Bianka had to stay at the hostel until 12 as she had a fever. I picked her up at 12 and we sailed about an hour by public transport boat to join the group at St Mark's Square. We were able to see not only the old town but also the economic side of Venice during the cruise. We then tried to find a restaurant we had photographed earlier without a gps signal, but unfortunately this proved to be the biggest challenge of the day. So we finally gave up and had lunch at a nearby restaurant. After lunch we went back to the hotel to collect our suitcases and lo and behold, on the way we came across the restaurant we hadn't found before. At half past 5:30 we headed on to Rome. KB we arrive at 10:00 pm and have to find somewhere to have dinner. After that it's about a 40 minute public transport ride to the accommodation. Hopefully we can get our heads down on the pillow by midnight. Tonight the group will split up, we will be staying in two different accommodations and from here on we will go our separate ways, visiting different cities.
