We arrived in Rome late in the evening, the large group had already split up, unfortunately one of our students had fallen ill and had already arrived in Rome with a fever and unfortunately could not spend the day with us at the sights, which we were very sorry about. We decided that she could not continue the trip with us as she could not stand, so we decided with her parents to pick her up by car in Milan, as we were continuing as planned the next day. The rest of the group was still in Rome for the day, so we tried to see as much of the sights as possible. Our first trip was to the Trevi Fountain and then through the crowds we headed to the Vatican, which we didn't get into as we had a prior appointment to see the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Mamertine prison. At the end of the day we went back to the hostel and packed up for our onward journey the next day. We even went to the hospital the first night, as our patient had a fever.
