We also spent this day in Milan. Today we had the opportunity to see the inside of the Duomo, the 3rd tallest in the world. Its huge altar and the majestic building enchant you, especially when you hear the sound of the organ. Unfortunately, we couldn't go to the top as our ticket was only valid for parts of the dome and the museum, which houses many sculptures that were saved from the 14th century. This huge building was only inaugurated in 1965 as it took five centuries to build. We then went to visit the Sforza Castle, which was the residence of the Sforza dynasty in the 15th century. Its beautiful fountain was a cooling sight in the sweltering heat. Afterwards we had dinner and packed our bags as we were leaving for Paris in the morning.
