It was another exciting start to the day, as we departed from Paris East Station to Munich, which was only accessible by two metro lines. We tried to leave on time, as we even had an announced boarding time, which meant we had to be there 20 minutes early before departure. Of course, just then the obstacles rolled in. It started with us not being able to drop off the keys to our apartment at the shop where we picked them up, as it was still closed. So we lost a little time as the shop was two blocks away. Then we left, and that's when the complications started. Just getting to the subway was a problem, as two girls were not allowed through the gate, so they finally opened it for them to get down to the subway. We got down to the tunnel of metro 12 and we calmly boarded. Boarding the metro, I studied the route of the metro as usual and noticed that the terminus for both directions of the metro started with Mairie ( one terminus was Mairie d'Aubervilliers and the other was Mairie d' Issi), I began to have doubts, were we getting on in the right direction? Of course, seeing the stops, we immediately realised that we were not. Luckily, we spotted it early and quickly got off at the next stop. Here we continued our adventurous journey, as we had to get off the metro and get back on again to get on in the other direction, but unfortunately we had already used up our one ticket, except for the two girls who were let in through a separate gate. Luckily, there was a ticket office at the gate so we could buy more tickets and then ask for precise directions so that we could now get on in the right direction. From there, we made it smoothly to the train station, and still made the boarding time. After our first adventurous journey, we were relieved to be on our way to Munich, with 8.5 hours of travel ahead of us with transfers, luckily the accommodation was close by, so after the tiring journey, we were able to book our accommodation quickly. Unfortunately, the area around the train station was not very inspiring, so we didn't really want to do much sightseeing in the evening, so we went to bed early.
